Aim
The course is aimed at those responsible for managing and those involved in the maintenance of buildings and associated plant, thereby ensuring the health and safety of employees and visitors.
Please note: this course is not intended to equip delegates with the specialist knowledge needed to conduct the removal of items such as asbestos insulation, asbestos coatings and asbestos insulating board. This is governed by strict regulations for which specialist licenses and other accreditation is required.
Course Duration
The course will be of one day duration.
Course Objective
On successful completion of the course delegates will be aware of the health and safety issues associated with asbestos, thereby significantly reducing the risk to uses of the premises. Familiarisation with both material and priority algorithms as part of the management plan.

Who is at risk and asbestos uses – where it is found in buildings?
Five stages of asbestos management, looking for asbestos, material and priority algorithms, deciding if there is a problem, deciding what action needs to be taken, recording the findings and acting and reviewing the assessment.
Understanding which work on ACM’s is required to be carried out by licensed contractors, which work is non-licensed and which activities is notifiable non-licensed work.
Certification: Delegates will receive an attendance certificate.
