The course is aimed at those involved in the maintenance of buildings and associated plant, thereby ensuring the health and safety of maintenance workers and others who may encounter asbestos in the workplace.

Please note: this course is not intended to equip delegates with the specialist knowledge needed to conduct the removal of items such as asbestos insulation, asbestos coatings and asbestos insulating board.  This is governed by strict regulations for which specialist licenses and strict accreditation is required.

Working with Asbestos Containing Materials (ACM’s)

(Non-Licensable Works Training to HSG 210)

The Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012 include the requirement for training employees who work or disturb asbestos referred to as non-licensable asbestos work or minor works.  Persons requiring this type of training would include those whose work will knowingly disturb ACM, such as removal of compressed asbestos fibre gaskets and asbestos rope seal (A25) etc.

Course Duration and Course Objectives

The course will be of half day duration (approximately 4 hours).

On successful completion of the course delegates will be aware of the health and safety issues associated with asbestos, thereby significantly reducing the risk of accidental exposure.  Including familiarisation with safe procedures when dealing with non-licensable material, prior discussion with client will be required.

Certification: Delegates will receive an attendance certificate.
