The Royal Navy required a review and update of its existing Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S) management system to ensure alignment with ISO 45001.
The documentation was extensive, complex and had evolved over many years, making it difficult to navigate and apply consistently across the organisation.
The goal was to simplify the system, strengthen governance and ensure it reflected current risks, operational realities and international best practice.
I reviewed the existing EH&S management system, engaged with key stakeholders and mapped the requirements of ISO 45001 to the Royal Navy’s way of working.
Policies, procedures and supporting documents were streamlined, clarified and restructured to improve consistency and usability.
The updated system provides clear direction, strengthens compliance and supports a proactive approach to risk management and continual improvement.
The Royal Navy now benefits from a modern, robust EH&S framework that is easier to apply, assess and improve.
