The timescale depends on the accreditation scheme, how quickly information can be provided and whether your existing health and safety documentation meets the required standard. With everything in place, accreditation can often be achieved within a few days to a couple of weeks. We manage the process from start to finish, identify any gaps early and prepare any additional documentation needed to help keep things moving as quickly as possible.
That depends on your business, the type of work you undertake and, importantly, what your clients or tender opportunities are asking for. Schemes such as CHAS, SMAS Worksafe and SafeContractor assess against the same SSIP Core Criteria, while Constructionline can include wider supplier and pre-qualification requirements. We’ll help you identify the most appropriate scheme for your business so you’re investing in accreditation that actually supports the work you want to win.
It doesn’t necessarily mean starting again. Assessors may come back with questions or identify areas where further evidence is needed. We’ll help address any issues raised, prepare or amend documentation where required and support you through the process towards accreditation.
Not always. SSIP’s mutual recognition arrangements mean that an existing accreditation may be recognised by another SSIP member scheme for the health and safety element. Some schemes have additional requirements, though, so we’ll help you work out what you actually need rather than paying for unnecessary assessments.
The cost varies depending on the scheme you choose, the size of your business and the level of accreditation required. Our support fee is separate from the accreditation provider’s own fee, and we’ll make all costs clear from the outset so you know exactly what you’re paying for before we begin.
Yes. If you’re working towards a tender or client deadline, tell us at the outset and we’ll prioritise the areas that could hold up your application. Timescales will still depend on the accreditation provider and how quickly the necessary information can be supplied, but we’ll do everything we can to get your application assessment-ready as quickly as possible.
